I have been in the Beauty & Wellness industries for more than 10 years. During my career I learned the importance of building strong relationships with new and existing clients. After graduating from Cosmetology School Cheryl joined the family business their father Anthony Lupinacci started in the 1960’s. She apprenticed under her dad and was exposed to all the great leaders and educators of that time. “Our dad was always interested in the latest and newest products to improve his client’s skin and hair”.
Those years with her dad were the best on the job training any daughter and young stylist could ask for. She is so grateful to have shared that with him. It wasn’t soon after she found her passion in hair color. “Making women feel beautiful was my goal and color became my passion”.
In 2000 their father retired from his first love and passed it down to sisters Toni Ann & Cheryl now co-owners. Working together with her sister has been an amazing experience.
Cheryl spent the next decades immersed in learning as much as she could to improve her skills in both cutting and coloring. In the 90’s she studied under Beth Minardi, the high priestess of hair color. We traveled internationally for business education and artistry looking in all areas to improve our business.
For the next 15 years we worked hard on building a team of talented young professionals that shared in their passion and vision of exceeding their client’s experience. It is so rewarding to see their growth. Many of our team members started out at La Jolie as recent graduates from schools, both estheticians and stylists, and to witness the transformation has been amazing.
It feels good to give back by to our community by offering haircuts at the homeless shelter. We are proud of our team to give selfishly of their time to be Day Makers for people going through difficult times. One visit stands out in my heart and mind, a gentleman in our chair told us he hadn’t had a haircut in 9 months, he left then came back to show us he shaved. His smile said it all and said “you can image how I feel right now”. We hope to restart this as soon as we are allowed to visit.
Being recognized by your community and voted Best Hair Salon from Stamford plus Magazine has been such an honor. The Fairfield County Business Journal awarded us as one of the winners of the Family Owned Business Awards and we were voted Best Facial by Best of the Gold Coast in 2020. Our father Anthony would be so proud knowing we kept his dream alive.
It has been a great journey taking this ride with my sister and watching our team grow. I look forward to the next chapter and I’m grateful for what is here right now.

In 2000, after working and apprenticing with their father Anthony for 10 years, he retired and passed the torch to his daughters, Toni and Cheryl, to run the business. For Toni a new passion was born. Working with coaches and attending many educational seminars, business systems were created, marketing strategies put in place and exceptional staff was hired and trained.
For the next 15 years Toni and Cheryl worked tirelessly to expand the business by refining the staff’s technical skills, closely monitoring and supporting their progress, seeking out the latest in hair care and skin lines, and providing and teaching exceptional customer service skills, all while maintaining a clientele of their own.
